About Me
I'm Mark Chambers-Price of the rural Georgia Chambers-Price family. The hyphen makes us sound high-falutin', doesn't it? The truth is my family hasn't had the wealth to back up that particular piece of punctuation for well over a century, but we're a proud lot and totally unwilling to let go of our majestic surname. You can just call me Mark.
I'm not all that interested in sharing my personal details beyond my name. Instead, I want to share a little about why I decided to build this website. My wife of forty years was recently diagnosed with a debilitating immune disorder. My immediate reaction was to respond with confidence and love, even though I wanted to cry rivers of tears. I figured my immediate take-charge reaction would help to ease her fears, and it turns out I was right.
Within a week of her diagnosis, just as the symptoms of her illness were really starting to impede her ability to get around on her own, I started a huge weekend warrior project to adapt our home into a space compatible with her needs. That meant replacing and refitting just about every feature in every room. In order to document the process and share what I did with others facing the same problem, I figured building a small website I could easily share links to was the quickest and easiest way.
If you have specific questions about my little construction adventure, handicap-access furniture and accessories, or my website as a whole, by all means leave a comment or send me an email. I've included a contact form here to help you get in touch with me.
The story has a happy ending, so far. My wife absolutely loves every change I've made and she gets around our home with ease, and with little help from me. Hopefully her symptoms don't progress and she stays content with the work I've done. I've done my best - now it's time to share it with the world.
